A LEGACY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS

Buffalo Public Schools' Student Council is proud to promote Buffalo's online business directory as a way of providing the community with a lasting legacy with which to commemorate Buffalo's Centennial.

SCHOOL & COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Through charging businesses and organizations to have a web page on the online directory, the Student Council of Buffalo Public Schools will be able to fund a Centennial project(s) which will suitably mark the momentous occasion of Buffalo's first 100 years

Steeped in history, the land upon which Buffalo can now be found was staked out in the valley of the Buffalo Creek, from which it received its name, and is situated along the old Fort Dodge - Fort Supply Military trail.

The Town of Buffalo, the county seat of Harper County, was formally opened on May 18th, 1907 and was subsequently dubbed "Stone City" because no buildings were permitted in the business district except of "fireproof" construction due to the common prairie fires.

As we move relentlessly into the 21st century, Buffalo Public Schools is proud to be able to provide students with the state-of-the-art equipment necessary in today's technological age. However, the school is proud of our heritage and determined to retain our traditional values. This fundraiser will use modern technology to help celebrate our past, creating a fusion between the historic Buffalo of yesteryear and today's progressive community.
